Town centre garden, Falmouth
A series of courtyard gardens wrap around this town-centre dwelling with views out over the river Fal. The house is clothed in reclaimed delabole slate, and the landscape materials reflect this with charcoal grey pavers and natural timber. The lush green sub-tropical planting stands out strongly against the dark grey, and feels cool and green even in the August heat.
A solid larch pergola provides privacy for the hot tub and frames the view of Flushing village and the fields beyond. A small intimate fire pit area catches the last of the evening sun and is hunkered down amongst planting. Millboard decking stretches along the front of the house, enticing guests out of their bedrooms to take in a morning coffee in the sun. The outdoor dining area spills out from the kitchen, and includes a bespoke kitchen with tandoori oven made from the same charcoal setts.
