Cliff top garden, Mousehole

Located on a steeply sloping hillside overlooking the picturesque Mousehole harbour, this sensitive restoration project has been designed to provide a journey connecting viewpoints, resting places, and collections of exotic Cornish heritage planting.

The existing stone circle and charming winding paths through thirty year old Camellias, Azaleas and Rhododendrons are retained and repaired. Instead of fighting so called ‘problem’ areas like the permanently damp lower lawn, a new bog garden is planted with a raised timber boardwalk snaking through.

The south side of the garden is more significantly changed, with the current subsiding and unsafe banks and steps replaced with minimal interference to keep the wild, natural spirit of the original space.

The focal point is a large oval level lawn, mirroring the original stone circle.
